The Seedlings brought the Thanksgiving spirit to life by crafting adorable handmade turkeys! This engaging project combined creativity, fine motor skill development, and a dash of holiday cheer.

Students started with a small piece of brown model magic to mold into their turkey’s body. From there, the fun began! They chose from a variety of colorful feathers, googly eyes, and pre-cut orange paper triangles for beaks. For older students, cutting out their own beaks adds an extra layer of challenge, while our younger ones enjoyed the ready-made shapes. A stuffed turkey on the table provided inspiration as the children brought their creations to life.

The kids had a blast decorating and personalizing their turkeys, as each one was uniquely crafted, reflecting the individuality and creativity of each child. The process of molding and assembling added a sensory element that made the activity even more memorable.

This hands-on project was a perfect way to celebrate and welcome Thanksgiving in the classroom!

Teacher Tip: Choose feathers with sturdy stems to make it easier for little hands to poke them into the model magic. Pre-cut the beaks for younger children to keep the activity frustration-free!
