Making Hanukkah Latkes From Scratch
This Hanukkah, our Mighty Oaks (ages 4–5) rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on cooking and science experience: making latkes from scratch!
In this 30-minute activity, children explored the sights, smells, and textures of traditional Hanukkah ingredients while practicing important developmental skills. From grating potatoes to mixing ingredients in the correct order, this project brought learning to life in a delicious and meaningful way.

🌟 Reflections
The Mighty Oaks were excited, curious, and eager to participate! While grating and waiting required patience, the sense of accomplishment—and the irresistible smell of latkes cooking—made it all worthwhile.
