Celebrating Earth Day at the ECC
In honor of Earth Day, our Sprouts (Group 2) class explored how we can care for our planet through meaningful conversations and creative expression. As part of our early childhood education curriculum, the children learned about recycling, reusing materials, and appreciating the beauty of nature around us.
Activity Overview
Over the course of three days, the children worked together on a collaborative Earth-themed art project. They began by painting the Earth in vibrant shades of blue and green, representing water and land. The next day, after discussing the beauty of our natural world, they added paper and foam flowers around the Earth to symbolize growth and life.
To bring their project to life, the children added white dove prints as a symbol of peace and even gave their Earth googly eyes—creating a joyful and expressive final piece.
