JFEDLA Hug Fund children laughing wildfires los angeles

The HUG Fund, created by Jewish Federation Los Angeles, offers meaningful tuition support for families impacted by the January 2025 wildfires, helping children continue to thrive in Jewish early childhood education programs.

At Temple Emanuel ECC, we are deeply grateful to be part of a Jewish community that comes together with compassion and care during difficult times.

Jewish Federation Los Angeles has established the HUG (Helping Uplift Generations) Fund to support families directly impacted by the January 2025 wildfires. Through this generous initiative, eligible families may receive a 50% reduction in tuition for Builders of Jewish Education Los Angeles affiliated Jewish early childhood centers during the 2026–27 school year.

We are incredibly appreciative of the thoughtful support being extended to families navigating loss, transition, and uncertainty. Programs like the HUG Fund reflect the strength of Jewish community and the shared belief that every child deserves warmth, stability, and joyful opportunities to learn and grow.

The HUG Fund is available to both currently enrolled families and those exploring Jewish early childhood education for the first time. Families may qualify if their home was lost or deemed uninhabitable, or if they experienced loss of business or employment as a direct result of the fires.

At Temple Emanuel ECC, we know that an early childhood center is so much more than a classroom. It is a place where children build friendships, families find connection, and community helps carry one another forward.

How the HUG Fund Works

Eligible families may receive:

  • 50% off tuition for participating Jewish early childhood centers for the 2026–27 school year
  • Support that may be combined with additional financial aid opportunities
  • Assistance for both returning and newly enrolling families

How to Apply

Families interested in the program should first enroll in a participating Jewish early childhood center. After enrollment, families will be connected with the HUG Fund application and verification process. Once eligibility is confirmed, the tuition reduction will be applied directly.

We are thankful to Jewish Federation Los Angeles, Builders of Jewish Education, and everyone helping make this support possible for families throughout our community.
