Heart People for Peace

student drawing a heart, art projects with hearts

In Group 3, we recently worked on a heartwarming project called “Heart People for Peace.” This activity gave the children a chance to explore their creativity, develop fine motor skills, and contribute to something meaningful as a group.

Materials Needed:

  • Construction paper
  • Glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Eyeball stickers
  • Markers
  • Large poster board

Instructions:

  1. Cut the Hearts: Each child cuts out a heart shape from construction paper. Teachers provide assistance if needed to ensure everyone can participate.
  2. Decorate the Hearts: Using markers and stickers, the children add facial features like eyes, noses, and mouths to their hearts, making each one unique.
  3. Assemble the Poster: The children glue their decorated hearts onto a large poster board.
  4. Add Details: Once the hearts are secured, the children use markers to draw arms, hands, and any other creative touches to complete their “heart people.”

The excitement in the room was contagious as each child proudly contributed to the final masterpiece, a colorful display of individuality and teamwork.

This project was more than just a craft; it was a celebration of creativity, confidence, and community. The “Heart People for Peace” poster now hangs in our classroom as a reminder of the joy and collaboration that make Group 3 so special. Moments like these highlight the incredible potential of our young creators.
